Christopher and I are so excited to represent Decatur County at the 2025 CAC Mardi Gras Ball!

The Children's Advocacy Center of Southeastern Indiana is on a mission to help children heal and seek justice after an allegation of child sexual abuse, neglect, or assault. They help children become kids again by helping them begin the healing process.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Southeastern Indiana is a child-friendly nonprofit corporation created to minimize the trauma suffered by victims of child abuse. They are a 501(c)3 nonprofit. The CAC is designed to use a multidisciplinary team approach which facilitates the prevention, detection, investigation, and treatment of child abuse.

Their team consists of prevention specialists, forensic interviewers, victim advocates, law enforcement, prosecutors, and the Department of Child Services. When children go to their center, they drastically reduce how many times they have to share their story. When children arrive for the first time, it's usually during one of the darkest moments in their life.

As a nonprofit, they rely heavily on grants, community partnerships, and fundraisers to be able to provide services to families at no cost. On average the cost of providing care for one child is $650 and last year they interviewed 537 children. There will always be a need for these services in our community and we are honored to help the place where children begin their path to healing!
